Understanding Learning Disabilities in Family Life: A Film Presentation and Discussion

This workshop will include watching the powerful documentary, Read Me Differently (56 mins.), which explores how undiagnosed dyslexia and ADHD have impacted three generations in one family, including the filmmaker's own struggles. After the screening, time will be given for discussion and Q & A with filmmaker Sarah Entine. In addition, Sarah will offer a presentation on the topic of mindfulness meditation and how this practice can help develop inner resilience and acceptance to life with learning challenges.
Sarah Entine, MSW is an award-winning documentary film director and producer with dyslexia. Her film, Read Me Differently won the prestigious CINE Golden Eagle Award and was broadcasted on WGBH (PBS) in Boston. She has a Master's degree in Social Work from Simmons College and has practiced mindfulness meditation since 1998. Sarah is a recent graduate of the UCLA Mindfulness Awareness Research Center where she earned a certificate in mindfulness facilitation. For more information visit www.readmedifferently.com.
