Support for Parents with Teens in High Risk Situations

Presenter: Cindy Rasicot, LMFT, Jan Rao, and Alex Georgakopoulos
When: April 3, 2015 (Friday)
Time: 12:30 - 2 p.m.

This presentation will introduce participants to Willows in the Wind (www.willowsinthewind.com), a nonprofit organization offering free support groups for parents with teens/young adults in high risk situations. When parents can no longer keep their son or daughter safe at home, they are faced with the difficult decision of sending them to a treatment program. Willows in The Wind offers a safe place for parents to share their most intimate concerns and learn about resources in order to make informed personal decisions about treatment options. This includes in-home intervention, choosing an educational consultant, wilderness programs, residential treatment, and transition/after-care programs. Willows Directors will be joined by Alex Georgakopoulos, CEO of Coyote Coast Youth and Family Services.
