Teen Sexuality and Parent Communication

What really matters to teens when it comes to sexuality and relationships? Though most sex ed programs focus on anatomy, pregnancy prevention and sexuality transmitted infections, the heart of any sexuality health program for young people ought to focus on developing healthy romantic relationships and sexual decision-making.  In this interactive workshop, the presenter will duplicate a values clarification game she leads with 8th graders to high school students. She will share what teens tell her they want in a romantic partner, what behaviors counts as sex, why they would or would not engage in sex, how they break up with each other, their thoughts on friends-with-benefits and more. In addition, Ivy will also share some strategies about discussing sexuality issues with teens.
